The LA Clippers were given a major challenge when Paul George announced he would leave the team in free agency. Since then, the front office has been heavily focused on improving their roster for the last three weeks. By and large, they have passed with flying colors, bringing in diverse talent that should help this squad remain a playoff contender next season.

There has of course been an emphasis on external improvement, and signing established players that the Clippers have a high degree of confidence in due to their success elsewhere in the NBA. But there is also something to be said for internal improvement.

Any young players that blossom under the watchful eyes of the Clippers' development staff only become additional plusses to the big steps forward the team as a whole is making this summer. One of those young talents is Summer League standout, Jordan Miller.

Miller earned Summer League First Team honors

After being drafted by the Clippers in the 2023 draft and seeing limited court time with the NBA club this past season, Miller was one of the top suspects to be a top performer with the Summer League team in Las Vegas. He more than lived up to that expectation, earning All-Summer League First Team honors while leading the Clippers to a 4-1 overall record.

In his five games played, Jordan scored 36, 21, 23, 19 and 28 points. LA barely lost a close contest to the Grizzlies in the Summer League semifinals, and came very close to playing in the Monday night championship game. With this kind of production, it stands to reason that Miller could be well on his way to earning more playing time with the Clippers in the upcoming NBA season.

LA has much more wing depth now than they did for most of last season. And yet, being able to add Jordan Miller into the equation would be a huge win for their overall depth as well as playoff chances. Things are certainly trending upward for the versatile young wing.
