Russell Westbrook, through all his faults, has put together one of the most star-studded careers in NBA history. At his peak, he was an unstoppable offensive engine that was one-half of the nucleus to numerous prolific playoff teams, along with Kevin Durant.

His 2017 MVP remains one of the most impressive accomplishments of a generation, and the manner in which he shattered the all-time triple double record will never be forgotten. With all that in mind, we can acknowledge that the Westbrook of today is not quite the player he once was. His impact on the LA Clippers was far below the level he played at when he was the MVP of the league.

That is not to downplay his career, but we can use a simple eye test to say that he has slowed down from his peak level of efficiency, which is simply a result of the natural aging process. Some, however, would disagree with this notion. You can count Grammy award-winning rapper Lil Wayne in this category.

Lil Wayne: Westbrook makes "every team he gets on better"

Appearing on Fox Sports' Undisputed, Wayne spoke with his friend Skip Bayless and gave his honest thoughts on Russell Westbrook. The 2017 MVP will be playing on his sixth NBA team when he suits up with the Nuggets in October. When asked how it is possible that an all-world player has been on so many different squads, Wayne explained that he believes it comes down to value.

"I believe that means he's valuable," said Wayne. "That's why you on so many teams. And it's in the NBA. I believe that's a simple explanation right there, he's just valuable." Skip pushes back on Wayne's take by pointing to the evidence of all the stars Russ has played with in recent years that have in one way or another not worked out next to him.

But in Wayne's view, that is not exactly how things went down. He still believes Westbrook will make Denver a better team. "I believe Russ makes every team he gets on better," Wayne said. While there is still certainly a solid chance Westbrook can help the Nuggets, Wayne's reasoning may be a bit flawed.

It is okay to admit Russ has slowed down a bit while still acknowledging he has value. If the reason that Westbrook has switched teams so much were as Wayne is saying, teams would have been knocking down the Clippers' door this summer to get him, which was not the case.
