LA Clippers fans and everyone who loves the game of basketball have been waiting for the release of NBA 2K25, the latest edition of the most well-known NBA video game. Every year around the beginning of September, 2K's latest release is made public, and basketball fans unite with video game enthusiasts to enjoy all that the new game has to offer.

Of course, when the game is updated every year, one of the main attractions fans cannot wait to see is the updated ratings for each player in the league. For those unaware, NBA 2K assigns a numerical value to each player on every team as a ranking system to determine how they will impact gameplay. The number is designed to be as accurate as possible to ensure the game's realistic nature.

Here, we will take a look at how 2K rated each Clippers player for 2K25 as well as evaluate how accurate players' key attributes are in the game.

Notable changes from NBA 2K24

Several Clippers players saw a big change in their rating from last year's version of the game. The most significant of which is Kawhi Leonard who dropped two points despite a very solid season where he earned second-team All-NBA honors. James Harden fell a shocking five points after a season where it became even clearer that he is past his prime.

Derrick Jones Jr. jumped up four points after his breakout season with the Mavericks, making him the biggest riser on the Clippers' roster. Another notable change was P.J. Tucker, who fell three points after a massively disappointing year.

Individual player ratings

Star players

Kawhi Leonard (SF/PF)

Rated as a 92 overall in 2K25, Kawhi recieved his lowest rating since 2K16 when he was an 87 overall. This was highly puzzling in the eyes of many, due to his incredible season with the Clippers in 2023-24. Making an All-NBA team is no easy feat, and Kawhi did it while playing his most games in a regular season since 2016-17.

Still, the game developers likely considered health as a big factor. Since Leonard did not finish the season healthy and missed the majority of LA's playoff games, that most likely lead to his rating being much lower than expected. Kawhi boasts a 98 intangibles rating, tied for the highest of any player in the game.

James Harden (PG/SG)

Harden comes in as an 84 overall in 2K25, dropping a full five points from the 89 overall he was assigned last year. That marks the lowest James has been rated since the release of 2K13 back in 2012. Once Harden arrived with the Clippers, it became even clearer that he has lost much of the first step that once allowed him to be among the most lethal scorers in the association.

Still, Harden stacks up as a very useful distributor within the game. He has a 95 ball handle rating and a 94 pass IQ. He is one of just 15 players in the game to register a 98 or higher stamina attribute.
