The grand opening of the LA Clippers' new state-of-the-art arena is just a few short days away. Fans have been waiting for months to see the inside of the spectacular new space, and some have already gotten a speak peek.
After spending the last several decades sharing a home arena, team store and everything of the like with the Lakers and other Los Angeles teams, the Clippers will be proud to finally have their own space all to themselves. Not only will it be theirs exclusively, but Intuit Dome will also boast some of the best amenities of any American sports venue.
We are still more than two months away from the start of the NBA season, but we now know who and when the Clippers will be playing in their first ever home contest at the Intuit Dome. Shams Charania announced on Monday morning that LA will be opening their season at home on October 23 against the Phoenix Suns.
The Clippers' home opener will be on October 23
The opening night for the league will be on Tuesday, October 22, in which there will be two prominent national television games. The remaining 26 teams will compete on the following Wednesday night, with the Clippers hosting the Suns in what will be Intuit Dome's first ever NBA game.
Clippers fans are certainly in for a treat with this one. Kawhi Leonard squaring off with Kevin Durant will be must-see television, and LA's new arena should be packed to the rafters. There should be little doubt that this will end up being one of the NBA's most-watched opening week games.
