The LA Clippers' roster is mostly set for next season. Following the departure of Paul George, the front office did a spectacular job filling in the gaps by adding solid replacement players. Given the team's financial situation, President Lawrence Frank made it obvious that the team is not looking to shake things up further.
More or less, this is the group the Clippers will ride into next season with, and attempt to remain a top-level playoff contender with. However, small improvements in the margins can still be made, and one such move was made this past week when LA officially inked Trentyn Flowers to a two-way contract.
The undrafted free agent out of the 2024 draft class was picked up by management following the conclusion of the draft. Clearly, the Clippers thought highly of Flowers, given they made sure Steve Ballmer, Tyronn Lue and Lawrence Frank all spoke to him on the phone that night.
The Clippers signed Trentyn Flowers to a two-way deal
Trentyn was unable to play in Summer League, but we already saw him as one of the top candidates from the Summer League to make the NBA roster before the campaign began. He will do so after a unique journey to the professional basketball ranks.
Becoming a standout prospect at Combine Academy in North Carolina, Flowers committed to play college basketball at the University of Louisville. After decommitting, he opted to begin his pro career early and join the Adelaide 36ers in Australia. Doing so gave him valuable experience against other professionals he would not have gotten in the NCAA in the United States.
Now, Trentyn comes into the 2024-25 NBA season with a two-way spot on the Clippers' roster, and a chance to prove he belongs on this team for the long run. The 6-foot-9 wing will have a perfect opportunity to continue earning his way into the ranks of the top basketball league in the world.
