Only 9 days remain before the LA Clippers' new home officially opens to the public. On August 15, the Intuit Dome will finally host its first ever event, and Clippers fans can feel even more excitement for their team's new home as it finally becomes a reality.

In the meantime, longtime fans in Los Angeles are not the only ones eager to see Intuit Dome open its doors. The upcoming grand opening of the state-of-the-art new arena in Inglewood has brought together past members of the team as well, with Jamal Crawford and Lou Williams making an appearance at the venue last week.

Jamal Crawford was impressed by the Intuit Dome

The duo also recorded a new episode of Lou Williams' podcast The Underground Lounge while hanging around the lounge at Intuit Dome. While speaking on the pod, Lou got Jamal's thoughts on the Clippers' new arena.

"It's crazy," Crawford said. "If you look around, ain't no arena like it. But when you're dealing with Steve Ballmer and the Clippers, they're gonna do it right. Ain't no stone left unturned, and he set it off." Jamal is clearly a big fan of Intuit Dome, and Lou Williams shared similar sentiments as well.

"It's a beautiful space," said Williams. "We were able to walk around, we saw the suites, the practice facility ... they've got courtside suites down here. Man, you can walk right out your suite onto the court. It's amazing."

The Lakers hired a Clippers assistant coach

It is becoming more clear that Ballmer was never bluffing when he would rave about how amazing this arena would be. Another piece of relevant Clippers news to come up recently involves the Lakers' newly-finalized coaching staff.

With the announcement of JJ Redick's full staff on Monday, some fans took notice of the fact that the Lake Show added Beau Levesque as an assistant coach for the upcoming season. Previously serving with the Clippers since the start of the 2020-21 NBA season, Levesque worked in player development and was instrumental in the progression of certain players like Luke Kennard.

Losing an important coaching piece who had been with the organization for nearly half a decade will not be easy, but Clippers fans can take comfort in remembering that Tyronn Lue will be adding Jeff Van Gundy to his staff for next season as well.
