There have been plenty of concerns surrounding Kawhi Leonard's health ever since the early parts of April this year. That is when the LA Clippers' superstar began missing time due to inflammation and pain in his right knee. His condition got so bad that he missed the remainder of the team's regular season games and four of the six games in the playoffs.

For a while, there was a thought that he had healed and was all good to go, especially given his involvement with Team USA in preparation for the Olympics. Kawhi had traveled with the US national team to Las Vegas to train and practice ahead of some exhibition games that would prepare the team for competition at the highest international stage.

But when it was announced that Kawhi would head home from Olympic activities early and not continue competing with Team USA, some major concerns began to be raised. If Leonard was not healthy enough to play in mid-July, how likely was it that he would still be out by the time the NBA season started in mid-October?

Tyronn Lue said Kawhi will be ready for training camp

But on Wednesday, Clippers fans got an excellent news update with the release of an article from Ohm Youngmisuk on ESPN. In it, Youngmisuk writes about a conversation shared with his network wherein Tyronn Lue shares some information pertinent to Leonard's health.

"I speak to [Kawhi] all the time," said Lue. "He'll be ready for [Clippers] training camp. He's feeling good and I know he'll be ready for training camp." This is of course a massive weight off the shoulders of Clipper nation. Fans had been holding their breath, wondering if their team's best player would even be playing on the night the Intuit Dome officially hosts its first game.

But now, it sounds like all those worries can be forgotten. The fact that Ty's statement was so confident probably points to Kawhi being on a good trajectory to be back on the court soon, if he is not there already. All of Los Angeles can look forward to seeing number 2 doing his thing again in short order.
