In accordance with Nike's partnership with the NBA, the LA Clippers unveiled new City Edition uniforms ahead of the 2023-24 season. Featuring the 'Clips' wordmark across the chest, the uniform was designed by LA-based artist Jonas Wood.
The logo used on the uniform is a custom one created by Wood to pay homage to previous Clippers jersey designs used in the 1970s and 80s. There has been a mixed reaction to the new batch of City Edition uniforms released across the NBA this season, but Clippers fans largely seem to appreciate their team's new concept.
This design for the Clippers marks a departure from the typical full 'Clippers' name being featured across the chest of the jersey. Instead, the shorthand abbreviation references the name Clippers fans sometimes refer to the team as.
In utilizing this new City Edition design, the Clippers also retained their popular stylized 'Los Angeles' wordmark jersey as well, branding it as their Statement edition jersey. It marks the fourth time in the last five seasons the Clippers will wear some version of the jersey.
When are the LA Clippers wearing their 2023-24 City Edition jerseys?
The Clippers' City Edition uniform schedule is as follows:
- Nov. 24 vs New Orleans
- Dec. 29 vs Memphis
As of now, these are the only known dates when the Clippers will be wearing their City Edition uniforms in 2023-24. LA has already worn their special jerseys at home against the Grizzlies on November 12 and for the In-Season Tournament game with the Rockets on November 17.
When new confirmed City Edition dates become available, the list will be updated accordingly.
