3. Dallas Mavericks

When it comes to the top superstars in the NBA today, Luka Doncic is probably on everyone's short list of the best three or four players in the association. As long as he is in a Mavericks uniform, Dallas will be a Western Conference contender.

The Mavs should absolutely be considered as a player in the Paul George sweepstakes. At the end of the 2022-23 season, Dallas was coming off a year where they missed the playoffs, and it was unsure if Kyrie Irving would be sticking around town for the long haul.

But Kyrie re-signed, and the Mavericks were back in the playoff hunt. After struggling for more of the regular season than many anticipated, Dallas made some notable improvements at the deadline in adding P.J. Washington and Daniel Gafford. Their defense picked up considerably, and now they stand just four wins away from a second Western Conference Finals appearance in a three-season span.

Joining the team that just beat him in the playoffs would certainly be seen as a weak move by many. But if Paul George wants to go to a bona fide contender that could use his two-way ability, the Mavs would be far from a bad choice.
