Eric Gordon is thriving with the Phoenix Suns

Another player involved in the Clippers' 2023 trade deadline dealings, Eric Gordon arrived in LA after spending the previous six and a half seasons with the Houston Rockets. But longtime Clipper fans remember that 2023 actually marked Gordon's second stint with the organization, as he originally played with the Clippers from 2008 until 2011.

His second stint in LA ended up being much shorter than the first, as EG played just 22 games with the Clippers in 2022-23 before signing with the Phoenix Suns in free agency. Many thought that losing Gordon would addition by subtraction due to the fact that he will turn 35 before the end of the current year.

But in fact, he has been excellent since arriving in Phoenix. Putting up his most points per game since 2020-21 with 13.7 and continuing to be a reliable threat from three-point territory, Eric Gordon is proving he is still a worthwhile three-and-D type player.

With the Clippers' depth now shot without the likes of Robert Covington, Nic Batum, Marcus Morris and KJ Martin, they could likely have a lot of use for Gordon if he were still around. If LA had anticipated losing so many of their wing players, they likely would have kept Gordon around past last season.
