Over the course of an 82-game NBA season, there are many difficult choices a team is going to be forced to make. In testing out different lineups and seeing where certain players are best suited offensively and defensively, some players are naturally going to be become more expendable than others. We have seen this play out with the LA Clippers this season.

Positional needs, injuries and other factors will play into these personnel decisions being made. Sometimes, worthwhile players will be moved on from simply because the team is too deep at their position and the team instead opts to cash in on the trade market.

Among the players on the chopping block for the Clippers this season, there are a few players that are expendable for one reason or another, and there is at least one that they can not afford to part ways with.

Clippers can afford to trade P.J. Tucker

Things have not necessarily gone according to plan for P.J. Tucker in LA this season. With his playing time dwindling, his role has been dramatically reduced, and that has not gone over well for the veteran.

Expressing frustration with his role, there are now rumors that Tucker could be on the move before long. While Tucker's defense and experience are valuable, he is not someone the Clippers will not be able to continue without.

His poor shooting numbers have made him a black hole offensively when he has seen the floor this season. With all due respect to P.J. Tucker, there are certainly players that could easily supplant his production.
