Only 10 days remain before the LA Clippers must officially finalize their roster for the regular season. Until then, the coaching staff will still have three preseason games to evaluate all their players and determine who fits best on this roster for the regular season.

But at the conclusion of the preseason slate, LA will have to assign one player to the final two-way spot still open on their roster. As of now, Kai Jones, Alondes Williams, Nate Darling and Elijah Harkless are signed to exhibit-10 deals for training camp, while Jordan Miller and Trentyn Flowers occupy two-way roster spots.

That leaves one still vacant, and it will presumably be filled by one of the four guys currently on a training camp contract. Each of those players has made their own unique impact during training camp and preseason to this point, but it is becoming apparent that a front-runner could be emerging.

After Clippers practice on Wednesday, The Athletic journalist Law Murray reported that several of the veterans on the team were impressed with Alondes Williams' performance against the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday. Terance Mann shared his thoughts on the young guard.

Alondes Williams has impressed his teammates

"Last night, ManMan (Williams) showed that he could play point, handle the ball, make some passes," said Mann. "That comes with time. Guys show different things, that they can do different things, and it's up to the coaches to plug them in where they want to."

Alondes certainly had his moments in the win over Brooklyn. He finished the contest in double figures with 10 points off the bench, to go along with a game-high seven assists. Williams did it in just 16 minutes of action, and while nailing four of his seven shot attempts.

When Terance was asked what he and the rest of the guys have seen from Alondes at practice to make them think he could deserve more of an opportunity, Mann gave a glowing review of the youngster. "I think just playing hard, and then honestly we hadn't seen it too much in practice. The game was really the first time. So he built that opportunity for himself, and he carved out a little niche for himself."

A lot can happen between now and the end of preseason, but it seems like Williams has made a really solid impression among his teammates and perhaps the coaches as well. The Clippers must shorten their roster to 18 players by 2:00 PM PT on October 21, and Alondes seems to have a solid shot of grabbing that final two-way contract.
