Norman Powell's injury status updated ahead of Clippers vs Wizards
By Will Eudy
Following their loss in Boston on Monday night, the LA Clippers will play their final contest before Thanksgiving on Wednesday evening at the Washington Wizards. Perhaps you could say this looks like another trap game, but the Clippers should have a great shot of walking into Capital One Arena and picking up a win.
The Wizards currently sit at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings with just a 2-14 record. They hold the longest active losing streak in the association, having lost their last 12 games in a row. By all means, this is an extremely winnable game for LA, especially with as good of basketball as the Clippers have been playing as of late.
Prior to what was a scheduled loss to the Celtics, the Clippers won their previous five games in a row, holding four of those opponents under 100 points. They are hitting on all cylinders right now. The biggest question heading into Wednesday's contest is the availability of LA's leading scorer, Norman Powell.
Is Norman Powell playing tonight vs the Wizards?
Powell has missed the Clippers' last four games with a hamstring strain. This is the type of injury that players typically try to play it safe with, as improper management and rushing back from a hamstring strain can often cause lingering problems in the immediate or distant future.
Norman is currently listed on the Clippers' injury report as questionable. This designation means he was upgraded from the team's last official injury report, which was released on Monday. That report listed Powell as out.
According to Clippers reporter for The Athletic Law Murray, Powell was present at the team's shootaround on Wednesday morning. Per Murray's report, Powell entered the facility with the rest of the team rather than coming in early like he typically tends to do at road games.
