Although Terrence Mann had college basketball aspirations in the state of Florida, where he took his talents to Florida State University for four consecutive seasons without transferring, he was once a kid born in Brooklyn, New York.

With the LA Clippers, Mann had dominant moments against the Nets, which he cherished a bit extra because he was from the city and had his family and individual fan base rooting for him.

In fact, on January 1st, 2022, Mann began his new year on the road at Barclays Center, and helped the Clippers come back to win by four points against James Harden and Kevin Durant, the duo that combined for 62 points.

However, Mann posted 19 points in 34 minutes, shooting 7-12 from the field and 3-6 from three-point range, making the massive win feel surreal, as these were the days he had dreamed of as a kid learning dribble combinations and shooting mechanics.

Moreover, Mann recently had a homecoming moment, as he once followed the Nets, and now he is a member of the team, competing for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. This is an incredible sight, as Clipper Nation will root for their fan favorite wherever he feels happy.

Conversely, the Nets may think they are receiving the same type of production from Mann that he provided when he was on the Clippers, but their fans will soon be in for a rude awakening.

Terrence Mann is a solid role player, but he is not the same guy who torched the Utah Jazz in 2021

Fans of the Brooklyn Nets likely recall Terance Mann’s name from the 2021 postseason, where he scored nearly forty points, with just Paul George and no Kawhi Leonard, to send the Utah Jazz back to Salt Lake City.

However, Mann’s overall production has declined significantly, causing the LA Clippers to ship their former second-round pick to the Atlanta Hawks. Atlanta’s front office traded quite a bit for Mann and made the painful realization of why the Clippers no longer wanted him, as he scored seven points in two play-in tournament contests, shooting two-for-eight from the floor.

The Hawks took the first opportunity to move Mann, and although he may be excited to be in Brooklyn, their fans will regret acquiring him in a three-team deal with the Boston Celtics, as they will soon learn that the strengths he had earlier in his career have diminished.
