In recent years, one of the most difficult conundrums for the LA Clippers has been Kawhi Leonard and his future under their roof. He is the best player the franchise has ever employed, but the team’s cap space is not maximized when he is on the sidelines.

Furthermore, being a two-way superstar comes with the highest expectations on both ends of the floor. Fans want the two-time champion to guard the best while letting the offense run through his skillset.

Unfortunately, Leonard’s age and injury history forces the Clippers to pivot to someone else, especially on defense. Although he is still an excellent defender, the six-time all-star is no longer the team’s best.

Moreover, Clipper nation had regained faith once he returned. Head coach Tyronn Lue still had him on a restriction, but Leonard was providing enough for the Clippers to win against teams of all records.

Lue and his squad were fearless, and the regular season goal had shifted to attaining high standing. This is because the Clippers would gain more strength as Leonard moved closer to the sharpened version of himself.

These goals were quickly timbered, as Leonard was now fronting foot issues, which added to the knee soreness he had been suffering this season.

Kawhi Leonard’s foot injury may be minor, but it gives the LA Clippers something else to worry about.

With Kawhi Leonard recently experiencing a foot injury, the LA Clippers’ coaching staff will have to add precaution to his current status. This is poor timing, as Tyronn Lue and his squad have played subpar basketball throughout February.

After officially being ruled out with a new injury, different from what fans have seen with Leonard and his knee soreness, Lue stated before the contest in Indiana, “He jammed his left foot in the Milwaukee game. So, it’s kind of tender..he wanted to go through practice to kind of see how he felt. He didn’t do the loud part of the defensive segment. But, it’s going to be a day-to-day thing. Nothing too serious, I hope.”

This statement entitles the fanbase to be nothing but worried about Leonard moving forward. Fans notice each of Leonard’s movements to ensure he does not tweak anything in his lower extremities.

That said, with another type of injury to be concerned about, the Clippers could be in troubled waters if Leonard’s foot will require more attention than Lue hoped for.
