Although the LA Clippers haven’t signed the Denver Nugget, Peyton Watson, fans desperately want (hopefully yet), Michael Scotto of ‘HoopsHype’ reported the front office agreed to terms on a two-way deal with Jalen Pickett. This is an excellent use of one of the team’s three slots, as Pickett was solid for the Nuggets last season, averaging 5.2 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 16.1 minutes. He even had a game in which he posted 29 points and 7 assists against the Philadelphia 76ers.

However, as mentioned above, the Clippers only have three two-way contracts available. With Pickett, Jamarion Sharp (recently signed), and Nick Martinelli, the 2026 second-round pick, occupying them all, fan-favorite 23-year-old Sean Pedulla was officially waived by the front office.

This is just tragic news. Pedulla is a phenomenal offensive talent, and he did well in the summer league. But, at the end of the day, the NBA is a business, and he saw the ugly side of it.
Sean Pedulla got waived from the Clippers, even though he doesn’t deserve it
Based on what we’ve seen from the summer league, where Sean Pedulla showcased an elite level of playmaking and high-end scoring on all three levels of the floor, he’s far too good for the LA Clippers to waive him just like that.
For context, Pedulla averaged 13.6 points across five games in 25.2 minutes, along with 6.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds, shooting 35.5% from beyond the arc on 6.2 attempts.
There’s a lot to like, and the more important part is that he could really help the Clippers’ active rotation during the regular season, particularly if/when the backcourt becomes short-staffed.
Off the court, Pedulla has valuable experience working his way up, as he went undrafted out of Ole Miss, which could be helpful to various players on the current roster.
Unfortunately, the reality is the Clippers’ front office sees more to like in Jalen Pickett, and with limited space, someone valuable to the team was forced to walk through the door.
Does this mean Pedulla’s future with the team is done? No. Jordan Miller went through something similar with the team last season and found his way back before signing a long-term deal.
The same could happen with Pedulla. He just has to keep his head up and continue working towards finding a home in the league. For now, though, the three spots are finalized.
