Bradley Beal spoke to media on Monday and revealed that Kawhi Leonard has been the biggest standout from the Los Angeles Clippers' training camp thus far. Overall, this is the best result the fanbase could have possibly hoped to have heard.

What you want headed into a season is for your superstar player to set the tone. If Kawhi is already looking like the guy you're hoping he looks like in camp, it legitimizes his leadership, commands respect, and sets a certain standard with the rest of his teammates.

This is especially good for the Clippers considering the new look this roster has taken on. Having Leonard show who he is right away gives clarity to the roles and expectations that this team will have going in.

When asked about who is standing out the most, Beal cites Kawhi's work ethic, noting the kind of commitment that he, James Harden and Brook Lopez have all made in that department. Again, that's going to be massive in terms of setting the stage for the season and being a good example for players who didn't know as much of what to expect going in.

Kawhi Leonard has been the best player at camp

It might seem like a somewhat small thing, but having your veterans buy in at a high level from the beginning before the season starts should be a very good omen for what's to come. This group has big expectations, and the tenured players on the team are well aware that they're going to have to bring it from day one for this squad to achieve what they want to.

One of the best ways you can build positive momentum before a season even starts is by putting your money where your mouth is. The Clippers have been hyped up by national media all offseason as a team with a lot of potential due to their new additions. Now, they're already responding and showing that they're ready to make the most of what they have to work with.

Kawhi Leonard being healthy headed into the preseason and regular season is already a tremendously positive development. But the fact that he's showing up and working hard to make a statement early bodes even better for the Clippers' season. A locked in and committed Leonard could still be a scary sight for the rest of the league.
