Former Los Angeles Clippers star and arguably the greatest sixth man of all-time, Jamal Crawford, is set to receive a new teammate at NBC Sports this season. Crawford is a lead game analyst for NBC Sports' coverage of the NBA, and the company recently announced that Michael Jordan will join the team as a special contributor. In an interview with Landon Buford of rg.org, Crawford shared his thoughts on arguably the greatest NBA player of all-time joining NBC Sports.

"I was in New York when I heard the news, and it stopped me in my tracks,” Crawford said. "It felt like one of those moments in music—when everyone’s doing their thing, and then Jay-Z drops an album, and it changes everything. That’s the same feeling I had when it was announced that Michael Jordan would be part of the team. I’m honored to be his teammate. They even tried to trade for me when I was younger, but now the timing is right, and I’m truly excited."

Jordan has been quite busy since retiring from the NBA. In addition to appearing in many commercials, Jordan previously entered into NBA team ownership. Now, the former Chicago Bulls superstar is set for his next chapter with NBC Sports.

Meanwhile, Crawford has worked in the broadcasting industry since retiring from the league. He's previously worked with NBA League Pass and The NBA on TNT. NBC Sports' coverage of the NBA represents a fresh start for Crawford as well.

Jamal Crawford's Clippers career

As a player, Crawford enjoyed a tremendous career. He spent five seasons in Los Angeles with the Clippers, winning two of his three career Sixth Man of the Year Awards in LA. Crawford featured the talent of a starter but excelled at coming off the bench and making an instant impact. He played in LA from 2012-13 through the 2016-17 season.

The 2010's Clippers are remembered as one of the greatest teams to never reach a championship. A bittersweet memory in that sense, Crawford played a pivotal role in the team's regular season success alongside Blake Griffin, Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan.

Crawford is unquestionably one of the best Clippers' sixth men of all-time. Clippers fans will always remember everything Crawford brought to the team.

Now, Crawford is preparing to join a new team alongside a legendary teammate in Michael Jordan. The 2025-26 NBA regular season is set to begin on October 21, 2025.
