No matter who is injured or not playing for the LA Clippers, fans can rely on coaches Tyronn Lue and Jeff Van Gundy to enforce their best defensive effort possible. This strategy has consistently helped the team prosper, as it takes effort, hustle, and selflessness to excel in locking down.

Furthermore, the Clippers played well offensively in the 105-95 win against the New York Knicks. Superstars James Harden and Kawhi Leonard had a groove going, combining for 47 points in 73 total minutes played. Harden, in particular, drained five three-pointers, which retaliated the Knicks every time they made a run.

Additionally, two-way stud and fan favorite Nicolas Batum had a golden performance on both sides of the ball. He was unconscious offensively, scoring 17 points with five triples, but he also had two steals and two blocks in 34 minutes, which were crucial for the Clippers' momentum.

This win would not have been possible without everyone's effort, but what should not be forgotten is the way the Clippers locked up the Knicks' offense. They proved to still be elite on defense against a top-three seed in the Eastern Conference.

The Clippers' defense won them the battle over the championship-contending Knicks

Granted, the New York Knicks were missing superstar Jalen Brunson, but that should not detract from the prime defensive effort stamped by Jeff Van Gundy and the LA Clippers. Whether LA made or missed a shot, Van Gundy was noticed from the sidelines on nearly every possession, instructing players on where to be and who to guard.

Moreover, the Clippers stuck to their agenda and did a masterful job on five-time all-star Karl-Anthony Towns. In 34 minutes, he posted 23 points, 10 rebounds, and three turnovers, shooting 8-21 from the floor, with a +/-of -16.

Though Towns was the Clippers' primary focus, he was not the only one Van Gundy strived to contain. OG Anunoby, an elite two-way threat, recorded 11 points and three turnovers on 4-15 shooting, along with Miles McBride, who scored seven points and shot 2-13 in 34 minutes.

These poor shooting splits from several of the Knicks' most valuable players led them to shoot 38.5% from the field and 26.5% from three as a team.

That said, the Clippers need this level of defensive proficiency in each contest, regardless of the opponent. With 19 games left to finish the season, they can still win their way into a top-five seed.
