Clippers nightmare future awaits with only one possible savior

Following the addition of John Collins from the Utah Jazz, executive Lawrence Frank spoke with the media about the developments that have occurred thus far, including trades and signings, and what could happen before the start of the regular season.

One key point Frank made was that the front office is actively working to make the necessary moves. This initially hints at Chris Paul or Bradley Beal, possibly both, as well as another trick he has up his sleeve.

Moreover, the Clippers are clearly avoiding younger talent. This strategy has since faded away, following the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020, as the best teams that dominate the playoffs are often heavily supported by players who have experience and are still considered youthful.

There is no explanation needed for the Oklahoma City Thunder, and how their years ahead were set up by Sam Presti, but even the Cleveland Cavaliers, who were the first seed in the Eastern Conference, had a star like Evan Mobley who is still young and has a Defensive Player of the Year award to showcase.

However, the veteran-hunting strategy will not hurt the Clippers to try, as their future is a guaranteed nightmare. They do not have a single promise for their future, contrasting with the Thunder and Cavaliers. With a short supply of draft capital, there is nothing else for the front office to do other than sign aging, but still valuable, players in free agency.

On the other hand, there is a possible savior, but it will require the Clippers to complete the offseason correctly and navigate the entire next season with a sufficient amount of health.

Winning right now is the only way the LA Clippers can be saved, as a ring will prove the struggles to be worth encountering

In the first round, the LA Clippers demonstrated that, despite numerous flaws, they remain a threat to be concerned about. They were working with essentially no bench support and a three-guard lineup that head coach Tyronn Lue could not avoid, as that was his only option.

Conversely, if the Bradley Beal rumors are real and Chris Paul signs on for the minimum, taking money out of his desires, LA could easily form a superteam that will become a top-five seed if healthy.

This will make winning in the playoffs easier, which is all the LA Clippers need to worry about, as their future will be doomed if they fail to attain a championship with the numerous hurdles they have faced as an organization.
