The question many fans of the LA Clippers have, but they know will get answered shortly, surrounds John Collins and how well he will produce this season. Collins is in a better situation than he has ever been in, with two elite playmakers, James Harden and Chris Paul, leading each unit, with flashiness in their dimes and eyes on the back of their heads.
Furthermore, from the moment Paul and Harden were back in Los Angeles, working towards getting their bodies in game shape, Collins should have made it a goal to build a rock-solid connection with each guard.
That way, Collins could be sprinting on a fastbreak, or cutting near the baseline, and one of the two Hall-of-Fame guards will use their sixth sense to throw a sweet lob to score an easy two, and get the crowd jumping out of their seats.
Thus, with the possibility of his production reaching career-highs next season, what could Collins’ averages realistically look like in the dream situation he will be in with Harden and Paul as his floor generals?
John Collins could very well be a debatable pick on the 2026 All-Star roster
In the ideal 2025-26 LA Clippers’ team campaign, the roster will have multiple All-Stars. This will only happen if their win count is top two in the Western Conference by February, and in these perfect circumstances, the two obvious picks will be James Harden and Kawhi Leonard.
Moreover, fans are anticipating Ivica Zubac to be in the discussion, but John Collins could be right there, especially if he stays healthy and turns out to be the x-factor Tyronn Lue needs to thrive daily.
Statistically, Collins will translate the inevitable into a reality, possibly exceeding 20 points per game for the second time in his career, generating spot-up buckets and easy dunks assisted by Harden and Chris Paul.
Collins will simply always have an elite creator feeding him. With the fans having already seen what he can do through his highlights from the Utah Jazz and Clippers’ first four preseason games, his job next season will be like playing the easiest mode possible on NBA 2K.
That said, the Clippers have Collins’ needs met based on his skillset, and as a result, top-notch numbers will be produced. The recognition will be delivered in February on the All-Star team, or better yet, at the end of the NBA Finals with the Larry O’Brien Trophy in his hands as LA fans chant his name.
