As soon as the LA Clippers' season ended in 2023-24, the conversation immediately pivoted to one player in particular: Paul George. With Kawhi Leonard already signed to an extension with the team, the fate of the franchise's future would lie in the front office's ability to get a new deal done for George.

When the two sides could not come to an agreement, it sent George packing for Philadelphia and left the Clippers with plenty of questions about where to go next. Thankfully, management had plenty of back up options, and quickly signed several serviceable role players to the roster to fill in the void left by the star wing's departure.

Many, including Norman Powell, felt PG leaving was actually a blessing in disguise. Powell referred to it as "addition by subtraction," which of course drew plenty of attention. LA has struggled to begin their new season and are still yet to pick up a win at Intuit Dome, but that does not mean they are itching to get Paul George back on the roster.

In fact, a large portion of the fan base is very excited about the prospect of handing George an L when he makes his return to Los Angeles with the 76ers. That game will be occurring this week, but the question in everyone's mind remains whether George will actually be playing.

Paul George will return to the court on Monday

Sitting out for each of the Sixers' first five games with a bone bruise in his knee, PG has yet to take the court in a real NBA game that counts in the standings with his new team. But according to Shams Charania, Paul George is expected to return to the floor on Monday against the Phoenix Suns.

Of course, this means that George will theoretically be available to play when Philadelphia travels to Southern California to take on the Clippers at Intuit Dome on Wednesday. Clipper nation has been waiting for this one, and they will no doubt be giving their former player a hard time when he trots out on the court in Los Angeles as a visitor for the first time since departing the franchise.

The Clippers have another home game against San Antonio on Monday. But assuming their bad luck on their home floor continues to begin the week, beating George for their first ever win at Intuit Dome would certainly be a sweet moment of validation for the entire fanbase.
