As we speak, everyone and their mother is expecting the first four picks in the NBA Draft to go somewhat similarly to: AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, Cam Boozer, and Caleb Wilson. This feels like all but a lock, leaving the LA Clippers to pick from the rest of the class. However, fans are praying that the prospect many consider a generational big man, Boozer, slips to LA.

The chances are low, as both the Chicago Bulls and Memphis Grizzlies are likely well aware of the type of talent Boozer is, and how clear the signs of stardom were in his days for the Duke Blue Devils.

In the same breath, on draft night, anything can happen, as shocking picks are made all the time, and Clipper Nation is hoping they get lucky for the second time in the same offseason

Clippers Nation wants Cam Boozer because he’s a once-in-a-generation talent

In the 2026 draft class, there are projected stars, and somewhere above that tier, there’s Cam Boozer. He is widely regarded by many to be the most skilled out of anyone, and if you watch his film, there's no other observation that can be drawn.

From shooting the three-ball at a high clip at six-foot-eight, to being able to finish at the cup with a bag deeper than anyone, Boozer has nearly a complete offensive arsenal, which matches well with his strong frame of 252 pounds that allows him to defend relatively well at a high level.

Overall, he has first-option in the NBA written all over him, and someone that can be trusted to take the keys to lead a championship.

In addition to the eye test, though, are the numbers. Boozer was on another level at Duke, with averages of 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists, shooting 55.6% from the field and 39.1% from beyond the arc.

These numbers are remarkable, and to think he did all of this at 18 years old, accomplishing feats such as being named AP Player of the Year, winning the Wooden Award, and being a Consensus All-American, highlights the idea that dominance in the NBA is written in his future.

Therefore, fans of the LA Clippers have every right to be hoping for Boozer to fall to five.

He is better than advertised and is expected to build a career in the association that will last a very long time.
