During the trade deadline, fans of the LA Clippers were certain Bogdan Bogdanovic was gonna be gone. His contract could expire this summer (team option), which is typically appealing to contenders. Yet, because of his injury concerns, which are unpredictable and uncontrollable, no one wanted to roll the dice on potentially wasting money if his availability worsens. Thus, Bogdanovic is LA’s problem to deal with, as he will likely spend the majority, if not all, of the rest of the season on the bench.

In the 17 games he has played, Bogdanovic posted just 7.6 points, shooting 37.2% from the field and 32.4% from beyond the arc.

Long story short, the constant injuries to his lower extremities, plus a level of production that is not worth $16 million, are precisely why the Clippers are stuck with a veteran guard who is basically a liability on the court.

The Clippers will inevitably wave goodbye to Bogdan Bogdanovic

Once upon a time, Bogdan Bogdanovic was integral to the LA Clippers’ success. He was efficient, confident, energetic, and just an overall joy to watch for fans, while being an even better teammate; the Clippers never saw why he failed in his tenure with the Atlanta Hawks.

But along came the injuries, leading to hard hits of adversity, in which Bogdanovic repeatedly failed to overcome. In fact, he has never had a stretch of games this season that truly impressed.

A few buckets here and there were essentially all he was providing, and looking back, it is a shocker that Tyronn Lue ever decided to start him for three games.

Furthermore, once the offseason arrives, Bogdanovic is one of the players the Clippers will navigate towards parting ways with. His 2026-27 option is bound to be declined, as there is just no need for him on the roster anymore. In the summer, another contender could step in and sign him to their desires.

Though it will be a challenge, the Serbian sharpshooter will have to build his value from the ground up. He can easily do so; however, he just has to stay healthy. That is the reason he did not work out for the Clippers.

That said, there is no one to blame for Bogdanovic’s struggles in LA. He tried, as he clearly wanted to be on the court hooping, and so did the training staff, yet, unfortunately, a good thing had to come to an end.
