The history books of the NBA may not have Chris Paul's name listed with a ring next to his name, but since being drafted in 2005, the likely Hall-of-Fame point guard has found a way to make every season a success. This is why longevity has not been a problem for Paul, given that he is accustomed to reaching high standards effortlessly.
Paul has had several seasons, partially with the LA Clippers, during which he has individually excelled in numerous areas, including an All-Star appearance, All-NBA selection, All-Defensive recognition, and placement as an MVP finalist.
In fact, Paul has come extremely close to an MVP multiple times, finishing behind Kobe Bryant in 2008, third in 2012, and fourth in 2013. He disappeared from being voted into the top five for a few seasons and returned to fifth in 2021 for the Phoenix Suns.
Even regarding team success, Paul has a certification in the winning department. He almost won the NBA Finals with the Suns in 2021, and has elevated the teams that have employed him in major and minor ways.
This foreshadows a successful 21st season for Paul, as it will be incorporated with the best supporting cast he has ever been part of under a head coach striving to win another championship.
Chris Paul elevating the LA Clippers' floor next season is evident based on what history has shown
Although Chris Paul has not been in the postseason every year following draft night, like James Harden, he has still boosted the winning percentage of each of his previous employers. Some increases were minimal while others displayed notable improvements, such as his rookie season with the New Orleans Hornets, which jumped up by 24.3%.

Contexts such as coaching and roster changes exist. Still, the 40-year-old veteran also managed to propel the San Antonio Spurs in 2024-25, even through a season-ending injury to Victor Wembanyama.
Yet, because Paul will be teammates with Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, Bradley Beal, and Ivica Zubac, the 2025-26 Clippers could be added to the extended list Paul has constructed by improving the team's winning record with his impact.
This will be more of a challenge than Paul has ever faced, as the Clippers won 50 games last season. They have had a phenomenal offseason, eliminating weaknesses in all directions. If the veteran guard does it again, the dream LA fans have had of winning a championship will become increasingly realistic.
