For the first time in ages, the LA Clippers will run through the pros and cons of having extended depth next season. The advantage is clear, as Tyronn Lue can rest his stars and still throw three-level scorers, sharpshooters, and top-notch playmakers at his opponents.
The con, which can lead to frustration behind the scenes, relates to players being listed as reserves and some not entering the game, based on Lue's judgment. This is what every championship-winner has faced, and to make it that far, the Clippers will experience the same.
A textbook case, Isaiah Joe, the 2025 champion of the Oklahoma City Thunder, was a big-time long-range shooter during the regular season. Still, in the postseason, his minutes decreased by over fifty percent. After all was said and done, his positive attitude mattered most, and players like Joe are why the Thunder were able to become winners of the NBA Finals.
Furthermore, Lawrence Frank recently discussed what the Clippers' rotation will look like next season, which is expected to be a nine-man lineup. He acknowledged the numerous playable talents LA has, but unfortunately, some will have their minutes cut.
Lawrence Frank: "We'll probably have a 9-man rotation... but you have 11 quality players"

That said, joining youngsters like Kobe Brown and Cam Christie, who are expected to see the floor rarely, could be any one of the following three players, or a combination of them, that are most likely not to be included in the nightly rotation.
3. Chris Paul
Chris Paul may be the most favored by fans to come off the bench, due to his individual fan base within Clipper Nation, yet Lawrence Frank dwindled the hype by mentioning that his role will come with DNPs.
Lawrence Frank says that there will be nights that Chris Paul will play a lot. And nights where he will not.

This does not necessarily mean that Paul will rarely check in, as the Clippers paid him to contribute as a playmaker. However, the veteran guard's playing time will be inconsistent, and any slight concern should not be overemphasized, given the inevitability of it happening.
