LA Clippers’ Norman Powell drops 51 points in Pro-Am game

Even in the off-season, no one can stop LA Clippers’ Norman Powell from getting buckets.
On July 30, Powell suited up to play for his Pro-Am team, Team Understand the Grind (UTG). And the Clipper sixth man wasted no time in putting on a show in San Diego: he logged an impressive 51 points en route to a 96-84 win against Valley Farm.
LA Clippers guard Norman Powell showcased his three-level scoring, once again, for the world to see.
LA Clippers’ star sixth man, Norman Powell, did all he could for his Pro-AM team. He used his quick first step to easily blow by defenders and acrobatically finish around helping defenders. When there was too much traffic, he used his dribble to gain enough separation for a quick floater or a side-step jumper. With confidence and continued poise, the Clipper effortlessly dominated on the offensive end.
Sure, this wasn’t game seven of the NBA Finals. But it’s a quick yet loud reminder of the offensive firepower that Powell possesses. He showed the world once with his 42-point scoring spectacle against the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the playoffs, and now he’s reminding us once again.
Perhaps this is a much-needed reminder of the kind of impact Powell has had and will have on the Clippers — especially with trade talks of James Harden continuing.
And while it is yet unclear if the Clippers will retain Powell for the upcoming season, we can still expect him to have yet another prolific scoring season. Wherever he may be.
