Untouchable 3: Terance Mann

One of the reasons I and so many others in the media detested the Westbrook signing initially was the prospect of losing Point Guard Terance Mann minutes, or as the kids call him, “The Point Mann.”

Before the Westbrook deal, Mann was putting together some seriously impressive plus-minus numbers at Point Guard, showing his unique chops as a facilitator even with his swingman size. He’s a talented shooter who has improved from beyond the arc as well as great overall efficiency.

Like Zubac, Mann actually plays a lot of basketball, which is the name of the game in this team-wide audit. He’s missed just one game for two straight seasons, which is an unreal level of durability in the modern game. All the while, Mann makes chump change when compared to players of similar impact, and the Clippers managed to swing a low commitment, team friendly two year deal for $22 million.

All that goodness ironically makes Mann very appealing for potential contenders looking to add wing depth or a gadget role player with some upside. But the Clippers would be insane to trade Mann this year, especially with that glorious extension about to kick in. Keep the man, or Mann, if you will.
