The two division rivals address some of their biggest needs

For the LA Clippers, making a move for Draymond Green would be one of the biggest trades in franchise history. This is primarily due to his status and how great of a defender he is, despite his age.

Furthermore, the LA Clippers have every reason to make this trade happen. A player like Green would improve the team’s scheme on both ends of the floor and provide quality mentorship to players like Bones Hyland and Moussa Diabate. This is crucial for the future as these will be the pieces that will become the face of the franchise.

Another reason LA will accept this trade is to move on from Marcus Morris Sr. and Robert Covington. Both of these veterans are desperate for a fresh start, and there is no better destination than one of the greatest dynasties in NBA history.

In addition, Covington and Morris Sr. still have the ability to help guide the Warriors back to the NBA Finals. They bring quality experience and some of the best three-point shooting the league has to offer.

Conversely, the Warriors may look to move on from Green and the amount of attention he brings off the court. This directly correlates to the drama within the team and his approach to the game. Although his jersey may go up in the rafters, Green’s incident with Jordan Poole was a sign that the Warriors’ season was over before it began. This led to a bumpy start which haunted the team once the postseason rolled around.

However, the LA Clippers can use this as leverage and bargain with their front office for the best offer possible.
