Trade Scenario 1: Trade with the Dallas Mavericks

With the way the Mavericks’ season ended, the LA Clippers should look to make a trade that will ultimately help the rebuild for the future. There is not much time left for either of these two teams. However, the Mavericks have a young superstar in Luka Doncic and may look to build around him.

On the flip side, the LA Clippers have plenty of depth which may attract Dallas’ front office to make a move. Several players, such as Robert Covington, Nicolas Batum, Amir Coffey, and Norman Powell, may be on the trade block.

Moreover, for the Clippers, their eyes should be set on two names: Jaden Hardy and Josh Green. These are two top-tier young talents searching for the opportunity to showcase their skills. Though they may have shown flashes in Dallas, it is clear that they will only receive the opportunity they are looking for if a trade is made.

That said, this proposed trade with Dallas would be a three-for-three swap. The Mavericks would send Hardy, Green, and Davis Bertans to the Clippers for Covington, Batum, and Amir Coffey.

In the Mavericks’ case, they will surround their superstar piece with two of the best role players, who can also consistently knock their shots down on the offensive end. They will also be given a promising young talent in Coffey, who has shown flashes of a phenomenal two-way star.

For the Clippers, Hardy has proven countless times this season that he can score at all three levels. On the other hand, Green has a similar playstyle to Terance Mann and the energy he brings to the team. If the LA Clippers begin their rebuild with these two on their roster, the future will look as bright as ever. Not to mention Bertans will join the roster as a seasoned veteran who can help develop the youth on this team.
