Trade Scenario 2: Trade with the New Orleans Pelicans

The New Orleans Pelicans could be the perfect trade partner with the LA Clippers. Not only are they on the cusp of championship contention, but they have an immense amount of young talent to satisfy the wants of the Clippers’ front office. A transaction between these two teams would push both parties in the direction they are aiming for.

Furthermore, the Pelicans recently traded for a high-end role player in Josh Richardson. This guy thrives on defense while making significant contributions on the offensive end. Additionally, the Clippers’ front office will target Herb Jones, another elite defender with an underrated offensive skill set. Finally, to complete the package, LA will ask for Trey Murphy and Jaxon Hayes, two athletes with a ridiculous amount of potential.

In return, the Pelicans will receive Paul George, a two-way stud who will play a significant role in their hopes to win a championship. This trade gives New Orleans the best core in the NBA with George, along with stars CJ McCollum, Brandon Ingram, and Zion Williamson. They also have elite role players in Jose Alverado and Jonas Valančiūnas who will shine on a nightly basis. Assuming this squad remains healthy, they will likely be the favorites to win the Western Conference.

On the flip side, the LA Clippers find themselves with a load of young talent in Hayes, Murphy, and Jones, along with an experienced veteran in Richardson to help with developmental purposes. This trade boosts the rebuilding process for the Clippers, ultimately putting them in playoff contention within the next few seasons.
