As the LA Clippers are currently down 3-1 to the Phoenix Suns, their playoff run will likely end without a championship. Franchise superstars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George remain injured, and the Clippers’ best player, Russell Westbrook, has the team on his back. However, his two-way impact hasn’t been enough for head coach Tyronn Lue.

That said, this offseason will be interesting for the LA Clippers. There is plenty of controversy surrounding the front office and the route they decide to go on regarding their franchise pieces. Though, many fans insist that the franchise should hit the reset button as the stars cannot sustain their health for the playoffs.

Trade Scenario 3: Trade with the Trail Blazers

One of the teams the LA Clippers should look to trade with is the Portland Trail Blazers. Their franchise superstar, Damian Lillard, has shown signs of frustration with the franchise and the direction they are headed in. Sometimes, it seems like Portland is looking to compete for a title. Conversely, the front office makes certain decisions that display the beginning of a rebuild.

Moreover, this allows the Clippers’ front office to trade Kawhi Leonard for multiple young pieces and draft compensation. This provides Portland with a duo that can compete for a title while also giving the Clippers a head-start on their rebuild for the future.

This proposed trade package sends Shaedon Sharpe and Anfernee Simons to LA for the two-way efforts of Leonard to Portland. Additionally, the Clippers would receive multiple picks over the coming years to allow the franchise to draft based on their needs.
