As rumors begin to rumble, the LA Clippers’ need for a point guard has increased significantly, especially after the loss to Milwaukee. Key pieces like Terance Mann, Kawhi Leonard, and Paul George are being forced out of their role, making winning streaks even more challenging to encounter.

Moreover, the former NBA champion, Kyrie Irving, recently requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets. At first glance, it was unclear whether or not the LA Clippers would pursue a guard of his caliber. However, it was recently reported that the front office has already submitted an offer for Irving.

Though acquiring Irving may have pros and cons, his talents will ultimately push the Clippers closer to winning a championship. Not to mention a trio of Irving, Leonard, and George would demolish opponents on both ends of the floor.

Which players might the LA Clippers include for Kyrie Irving?

One of the most significant factors for the LA Clippers in trading for Irving is the cap room the front office has to work with. While they may have leverage with his situation in Brooklyn, the Clippers may include only a few players.

Furthermore, two players that will likely be included are Mann, and the slashing wing, Norman Powell. In addition, the Clippers may choose to add in assets such as Marcus Morris Sr. or John Wall to receive other role players in return.

Nonetheless, the deadline has become much more intriguing for the LA Clippers as they seem to be active on the trade market. Although adding Irving would be a solid move, the front office should not let up finding the ideal backup center. There is still a ton of work to do if the Clippers aim for a meaningful postseason run.
