Adding John Wall elevates the LA Clippers roster significantly. Wall is a great all-around player as he can finish around the rim, make plays for his teammates, and play good defense. Wall also brings veteran experience which will only help the Clippers in the long run.

As the LA Clippers already have Reggie Jackson at the point guard position, John Wall will not be asked to make significant contributions. One of the main reasons the Clippers added Wall was to have an elite playmaker who can run the offense and make the right reads. These playmaking duties will ease the load off guys like Jackson, Kawhi Leonard, and Paul George.

One of the top priorities this off-season was to add a point guard who could keep the offense flowing. John Wall was the missing piece. The only setback to Wall is his health. When fully fit, Wall can be a nightmare for opposing teams. Continue reading to see why Wall is one of the best passers in the NBA and how he takes the Clippers to another level!

John Wall is a phenomenal playmaker

The addition of John Wall was a great move for the LA Clippers. Entering his 13th season in the NBA, Wall is still an outstanding basketball player. In his last season played (2020-21), Wall averaged 20.6 points per game, 6.9 assists per game, and 3.2 rebounds per game, while shooting 40.4% from the field and 31.7% from the 3-point line.

As Wall’s points per game stand out, he will not be asked to do much scoring-wise. Most of his contributions will come from making plays for his teammates. During the 2020-21 NBA season, Wall averaged 52.7 passes made per game which created 18.2 assist points. Additionally, Wall averaged 14.4 potential assists per game. To put these numbers into perspective, Trae Young, who finished 3rd in assists per game during the 2020-21 season, averaged 55.3 passes made per game which created 24.3 assist points. Young also averaged 17.6 potential assists per game. This shows that Wall is still an elite passer.

Wall did not have much talent around him during the 2020-21 season. Yet, he still managed to perform at a very high level. With the LA Clippers, Wall will have some of the best players in the NBA around him. Not only will Wall have superstars in Leonard and George, but he will also have some of the best shooters in the NBA in Luke Kennard, Nicolas Batum, Robert Covington, Marcus Morris, and Norman Powell. John Wall will inevitably make the LA Clippers much better.

The LA Clippers have a ridiculous amount of talent. With the addition of Wall, the Clippers have the best roster in the NBA. Now that the Clippers have Wall to take the playmaking load away from Leonard and George, the superstar duo can continue to impact the game at a very high level without having to worry about creating shots for their teammates. If Wall and the Clippers can remain healthy, they are going to have one of the most historic seasons in NBA history.
