Desperate for a win on the road, Moussa Diabate attempted to singlehandedly place his Michigan Wolverines on his back and lead them to victory against a solid, but not overwhelmingly talented Rutgers team on January 4th, 2022.

Despite being on the road, Diabate smiled sinisterly at the crowd as he began having his way with whoever was placed in front of him. He easily scored off dump passes and clean-ups around the rim. Rutgers, simply put, had no answer for Diabate as he crashed the glass for nine boards on the night to go along with 15 points.

It wasn’t just the efficiency in which he scored, nailing 66.7% of his baskets but it was the way in which he got it done. Diabate flashed a bit of a more versatile game against Rutgers, connecting on his lone 3-point attempt and making them pay when he was sent to the free throw line.

Diabate’s efforts may have resulted in another Michigan defeat but NBA scouts began looking at him differently.
