As a smaller school battling for respect, Reggie Jackson took exception when larger-than-life programs entered his building. Though Maryland hasn’t produced some of the higher-end NBA talents in recent years, Jackson still saw it as an opportunity to push Boston College into the limelight. If, of course, he was able to perform well and snag the victory.

On February 12th, 2011, Jackson took full advantage of the elevated platform he was given for their showdown against Maryland. With the college basketball world watching, Jackson had his game clicking. Not only did he pour in 31-points on helpless Maryland defenders but he did so while shooting 75% from the field.

Not exactly known as a knockdown shooter, Jackson couldn’t miss on this night, connecting on 71.4% of his 3-point attempts. Despite his diminutive size, Jackson climbed amongst the trees to finish with eight boards as Boston College fought from behind. Heading into the halftime locker room, Maryland held a slight three-point lead. But, it was Jackson who led his team with his second-half heroics, pushing them over the winning finish line and grabbing the four-point win.
