An invitation to the NCAA tournament appeared more and more realistic as San Diego State continued to tear through its regular season schedule. Led by Kawhi Leonard, the Aztecs won 17 of their first 24 games.

With Wyoming appearing on their docket in an early February game, the lips of San Diego players began to water as they locked horns against a 9-15 ball club. As the records would indicate, Wyoming had absolutely nothing for the battle-tested Aztecs and folded the moment San Diego connected on the first punch.

San Diego repeatedly dominated them on the glass and scored at will in the paint. In the NBA, Kawhi Leonard is not only known for his lockdown defense but also for his ability to score at will. In college, Leonard was far from the offensive threat you see today. However, on this day, Leonard had it all going. The versatile forward went on to drop a career high of 26 points. He was also impossible to keep off the glass, grabbing eight boards.

The Aztecs cruised to a 31-point victory as Wyoming hung their heads down in shame.
