The Los Angeles Lakers never got it right last season. Head-scratching lineups, mind-boggling rotations, and horrific 3-point shooting led to the Lakers producing one of the more disappointing seasons in recent memory.

When initially signed, it appeared as though Wayne Ellington would play a significant role on a Lakers squad that was in desperate need of shooters. Yet, as Russell Westbrook and LeBron James clogged up the lane, resulting in Anthony Davis being forced to take more and more midrange jumpers, Ellington was seldom given an opportunity.

In short and mostly innocuous spurts, Ellington proved to be a knockdown shooter, nailing 38.9% of his 3-point attempts. It’s unlikely that Ellington would play a major role on a stacked Clippers bench. But, considering his 3-point prowesses, he would be a welcomed addition and someone that coach Ty Lue could insert to provide them with a bit more spacing.
