Taken with the fourth overall pick in the 1983 NBA Draft, the LA Clippers had little to no use for Byron Scott. So, before Scott could even blink, he was dealt to the Clippers’ down-the-hall rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Norm Nixon. Scott never became an All-Star but he played a gigantic role on several Laker teams, winning three titles.

Scott filled the lane, received no-look passes from Magic Johnson, before slamming it home over and over again.

Nixon was a very good player in his own right and was even selected to the 1985 All-Star Game. However, adding him to their roster did little to nothing for the Clippers’ championship aspirations as they failed to make the postseason during his time in a Clippers uniform.
