Ron Harper’s time in LA was incredibly underrated. Having destroyed the competition as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Harper picked up exactly where he left off when he arrived in Los Angeles during the 1989-90 season.

The newly acquired point guard proved exactly why LA desperately wanted to get their hands on him. He went on to average 23 points a night in year one and consistently flirted with 20-point scoring binges on a nightly basis.

In five seasons in LA, Harper would go on to average 19.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists a night.

Winning a championship was never a realistic option for the Clippers during the 1990s but Harper did lift them from the bottom of the Western Conference barrel to playoff regulars. A first-round win eluded LA but Harper brought respectability back to the other side of Los Angeles.
