The LA Clippers couldn’t care less when it comes to tonight’s NBA Draft lottery. Most teams and their undying fanbase will gather around their television sets, crossing their fingers and hoping that their team will end the night with an extremely high pick. The Clippers, on the other hand, have known for quite some time that they won’t be in those discussions.

Thanks to the acquisition of Paul George, the Clippers will have only one pick in this year’s draft, a second-round selection, 43rd overall. Sure, the Clippers gave up a boatload of picks and players to get their hands on George, but as long as Kawhi Leonard returns to form next season, it’s highly unlikely that the franchise will be surly over the entire ordeal.

On a bright note, the Clippers haven’t been one of the best franchises when it comes to first-round selections. In fact, some of their more notable names and franchise pillars came in the second round of countless drafts.

The LA-based franchise will have to do its homework this year. The 2022 NBA Draft isn’t known as a particularly deep one. Meaning, that in order to get true value out of their second-round pick, the Clippers will have to make a sagacious decision when it’s their time on the clock.

In all, LA shouldn’t be too worried. Could they find another diamond in the rough? Without a doubt. So as the Clippers continue to dig deep and scourer over countless game tapes in preparation for this year’s draft, who emerged as the greatest second-round pick in franchise history? Let’s dive into it.
