3. Corey Maggette

Clipper Stats: 17.3 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 44.8 fg%

Seemingly built out of marble stone, Corey Maggette was practically impossible to stop when he got a full head of steam. The hulking former Clipper small forward was a respectable 3-point shooter, knocking down 33.1% of his attempts from distance. Still, while capable, Maggette was more interested in putting his head down, sticking his shoulder in his defender’s chest, and getting to the rim.

In eight full seasons as Clipper, Maggette attempted only 2.2 shots from behind the arc. His bread and butter, in addition to laying the ball in, was drawing contact and getting to the line. In five separate seasons, Maggette averaged at least eight free throw attempts a night.

Hacking and whacking away at Maggette did little to nothing to affect his aggressive game as he routinely connected on 80% of his free throw attempts.

Due to LA’s normally tenuous regular season record, Maggette was never selected as a Western Conference All-Star. He was, however, a terrific over scorer, dropping 17.3 points a night during his Clipper career.
