Before the LA Clippers went on to have an epic and almost unforgivable collapse against the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the 2020 NBA Playoffs, Kawhi Leonard had the LA-based franchise on the verge of making their first Conference Final.
The Denver Nuggets shook their heads incredulously as it appeared as though Leonard was ubiquitous on the court. Leonard torched defenders on the night by dropping 30 points on just a shade over 45% from the field and a pristine 50% from behind the arc. Never in the playoff career of Leonard has he ever registered a triple-double but on this night, he was incredibly close as he grabbed 11 boards and handed out nine dimes.
Of course, to the surprise of absolutely no one, Leonard was a monster on defense, sending two shots into the rafters and getting his hands on four total steals. The Clippers may have suffered a complete meltdown shortly after but Leonard had them on the cusp of the next round.
