JaVale McGee

Stats: 9.2 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 62.9 fg%

JaVale McGee has become a mercenary at this point in his career. Having played for eight different teams in 17 seasons, McGee has no problem with adjusting to new defensive concepts on the fly.

Now we’ll admit, McGee is likely to land on Shaqtin’ a Fool about a half dozen times. But, outside of his theatrics, McGee is a terrific defender, basket protector, and rebounder.

As a member of the Phoenix Suns, McGee only sees the court an average of 15.8 minutes a night. Regardless of the minuscule amount of minutes he logs, McGee has been terrific. Not only is he shooting 62.9% from the field but he also grabs 6.7 boards a night while scoring 9.2 points. His per 36 minutes numbers are flat-out gargantuan as his averages jump to 20.9 points and 10.2 boards with 2.5 blocks a night.

If McGee’s career follows its typical pattern, he’ll likely play on his fifth team in four seasons. If the Suns aren’t willing to bring him back, the Clippers shouldn’t hesitate and grab him when they can.
