2021 Stats: 13.5 ppg, 4.6 apg

We all pointed and laughed when Dennis Schroder declined the Los Angeles Lakers four-year contract offer worth $84 million, only to play awful down the stretch and even worst in the playoffs. Subsequently, Schroder was forced to sign a $5.9 million contract with the Boston Celtics before he was eventually shipped off to the Houston Rockets.

It’s been a rough stretch for Schroder. What the talented point guard needs more than anything, is a complete makeover. At one point, Reggie Jackson, current Clippers starting point guard, was in a similar position. He went from leading the Detroit Pistons to the playoffs to being on the end of the bench waving a towel. Playing in LA and under head coach Ty Lue, has revived his career…more than many actually realized.

At just the age of 28, Schroder’s career is spiraling out of control. He can still play, as he dropped a shade over 13 points per game last season, but can he be a part of a winning environment? If he were willing to sign a fairly paltry contract with the Clippers, he could find himself back in the spotlight. With Paul George and Kawhi Leonard by his side, however, he won’t be used as a scapegoat.
