Thaddeus Young

2021 Stats: 6.2 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 51.8 fg%

The days of Thaddeus Young inking multi-million dollar contracts are done and over with. So are his days of being one of the offensive focal points of a team. Overall, the numbers aren’t very flattering. Young dropped just 6.3 points per game to go along with 4.4 boards on a playoff-bound Raptors squad.

Under those previously mentioned playoff lights, Young’s production was pretty dreadful as he averaged just 3.3 points per game. Still, during a pivotal Game 4, Young was called upon to play 30 minutes, the only time he was asked to do so during the entire series against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Young responded nicely, dropping 13 points, dishing out five assists, and getting his hands on five rebounds. At the soon-to-be age of 34, Young still has something left in the tank, not much, but something. The Clippers aren’t a big squad and enjoy playing small ball, something Young has always thrived under. In limited time on the floor this past season, he did connect on 35.4% of his 3-point attempts, the third highest of his career.

At this stage, Young is affordable and fits in beautifully, the Clippers should take a look.
