Domantas Sabonis

2021 Regular season stats: 18.9 ppg, 12.1 rpg, 5.2 apg

Domantas Sabonis fell into the wrong hole as a member of the Indiana Pacers. With the franchise looking desperately for a star player, Sabonis, while terrific, was expected to carry them as its best player. That simply isn’t Sabonis. As a number two, however, it doesn’t get much better in the Western Conference.

In 15 games with his new squad, Sabonis wasn’t dominant in just one area on the court but outstanding everywhere you looked. The former two-time All-Star averaged 18.9 points a night, 12.3 boards, and 5.8 assists. Those numbers are incredibly similar to the numbers he was putting up in Indiana. Sabonis dropped the same amount of points, 18.9 points a night, and simliar production elsewhere with 12.1 rebounds, and five assists.

So what does that tell us? Well, no matter where he is on the floor, Sabonis is bound to give his team production from various spots on the court. He’ll never be able to lead a team to the promised land by himself but as the second option, Sabonis will be a nightmare.
