Players to unload if the Clippers become sellers at the trade deadline
1. Justice Winslow
The contract of Justice Winslow isn’t enormous by any stretch of the imagination. He’s owed just a hair under $4 million dollars this year and just slightly over that $4 million number the following season. But, the reason why Winslow should be shown the door is simple…he isn’t very good at basketball.
At one point, the hopes were high for Winslow. He was the 10th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft and admittedly, he showed a few flashes. Winslow averaged a career-high of 12.6 points per game during the 2018-2019 season. That said, he’s been both unhealthy and unproductive.
Over the past three seasons, Winslow has suited up in only 69 games. Presently, Winslow is inconsequential to the success of the Clippers. He’s averaging just 3.8 points and 1.2 assists per game.
At the age of 25, Winslow is still a young player but we simply don’t see him contributing in a meaningful way to the Clippers either this season, next, or at any point. The Clippers should cut bait now.
