3 players the Clippers should target before the trade deadline: 2. LaMarcus Aldridge

The LA Clippers are pretty well balanced on offense. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are great defenders and are absolute monsters from the perimeter. Reggie Jackson has little to no trouble attacking the paint, and Luke Kennard gives them a ton of spacing. The only box that hasn’t been checked off, is the big man position.

Serge Ibaka appears to be a shell of his former self since undergoing back surgery. Ivica Zubac, while promising, isn’t much of a scoring threat. As we’ve mentioned time and time again, the Clippers need affordable options. Their best bet would be to pick up the phone and give the Brooklyn Nets a call to try to pry away the services of LaMarcus Aldridge.

In a perfect world, Aldridge is the exact player the Clippers need to get their hands on. Offensively, Aldridge continues to be a midrange assassin. He isn’t the best rebounder in the world, averaging less than six a game this year from the power forward position. However, he does a ton all around.

The former seven-time All-Star is averaging 1.1 blocks per game while shooting 33.3% from behind the arc. Aldridge is the perfect combination of timely offense and stout defense, something the Clippers can use on their way to a championship.
