No. 2 thing we’d like Santa to leave under the LA Clippers’ tree: Cap space

One more thing the LA Clippers don’t have much of these days is cap space. It’s similar to what the case was last offseason, and it would be great if we didn’t have to face that issue again this offseason.

We would’ve been over the cap regardless of if we re-signed Kawhi Leonard or not. It’s one of the biggest reasons LA is in win-now mode.

There are going to be some great free agents coming up this offseason. As of right now, it looks like a better free agency class than what last year’s was.

If the Clips want to finally land Bradley Beal, or if they decide they do indeed want to negotiate with John Wall, or if they want to re-acquire Patrick Beverley, they may have a tough time getting it done. Sure, they’ll boast a Championship caliber team, as Leonard will be back by next year and the Clippers are so far a five seed even without him. But money drives all free agent discussions.

The Clips don’t have a ton of cash right now, which is why they’d BEG Santa to spot them on Christmas if they could.
